Why are prayers hindered?

There can be hinderance to receiving answers to prayers and healing.  If you are not receiving results, it is because of a hinderance blocking it.  Do not allow Doubt to invade your prayers or in your heart.  Believe and give it time, knowing that God will not let His Word return to Him void.

Doubt is a robber: (James 1:6-7 KJV) 6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

Doubt: is and outright distrust of the love and care of the Heavenly Father, and this is SIN.
(Psalm 55:22 KJV) 22 Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

The devil would love to rob you of every blessing.  Disbelief, fear, worry, and confusion are all mixed with Doubt.

(Exodus 14:13 KJV) Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you today: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today….

(II Timothy 1:7 KJV) For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

How to Alleviate Hinderances that block answers:

(II Corinthians 13:5a KJV) Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves.

(I Corinthians 11:31 KJV) For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.

1. Unforgiveness: (including self) (I John 1:9 KJV) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

2. Unforgiveness causes bitterness and resentment: If you harbor a guilt complex, bind and loose it. (Matthew18:18 KJV) Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

3. Obedience: (Isiah 1:19 KJV) If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:

 a. The Lord’s Commandments: (Mark 12:30-31 KJV) And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.  31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

 b. Indolence: (Lazy) (James 4:17 KJV) Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

c. Curse things in possession” (Deuteronomy 7:25-26 KJV) The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not desire the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be snared therein: for it is an abomination to the Lord thy God.

26 Neither shalt thou bring an abomination into thine house, lest thou be a cursed thing like it: but thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a cursed thing.

d. Hate: a destructive force (self-pity) vs love- a creative force, condemnation.

(John 3:17 KJV) For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

(Romans 8:1 KJV) There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

1. Result of hate: (Proverbs 26:24-28 KJV) When he speaketh fair, believe him not: for there are seven abominations in his heart. 26 Whose hatred is covered by deceit, his wickedness shall be shewed before the whole congregation.

27 Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him.  28 A lying tongue hateth those that are afflicted by it; and a flattering mouth worketh ruin.

 2. Insecurity: (I Peter 5:7 KJV) Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

e. Unrepented Sin: is flagrant sin in one’s life that festers in the soul! There is a difference between willful acts and weakness.  Weaknesses and shortcomings make overcomers (Read Revelation 2 & 3)

f. Unrepented Sin Separates from God: (Isaiah 59:1-2 KJV) Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:

2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

(Psalm 66:18 KJV) If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:

4. Praying Correctly: There is a divine order.

a. Enter In: (Psalm 100:4 KJV) Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him and bless his name.

(Philippians 4:6 KJV) Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

(I Thessalonians 5:18 KJV) In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

(Ephesians 5:20 KJV) Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; 21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

b. First of all: (I Timothy 2:1-4 KJV) I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

 c. Using God’s Word: (Proverbs 28:9 KJV) He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.

(Isaiah 55:11 KJV) So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

(Jeremiah 1:12 KJV) Then said the Lord unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.

(Hosea 14:2 KJV) Take with you words, and turn to the Lord: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.

5. Care of the Temple of God: Ignoring the physical laws of cause and effect

6. Touching God’s Anointed: (His servants) (I Samuel 26:5-11 KJV) And David arose, and came to the place where Saul had pitched: and David beheld the place where Saul lay, and Abner the son of Ner, the captain of his host: and Saul lay in the trench, and the people pitched round about him.

6 Then answered David and said to Ahimelech the Hittite, and to Abishai the son of Zeruiah, brother to Joab, saying, Who will go down with me to Saul to the camp? And Abishai said, I will go down with thee.

7 So David and Abishai came to the people by night: and, behold, Saul lay sleeping within the trench, and his spear stuck in the ground at his bolster: but Abner and the people lay round about him.

8 Then said Abishai to David, God hath delivered thine enemy into thine hand this day: now therefore let me smite him, I pray thee, with the spear even to the earth at once, and I will not smite him the second time.

9 And David said to Abishai, Destroy him not: for who can stretch forth his hand against the Lord's anointed, and be guiltless?

10 David said furthermore, As the Lord liveth, the Lord shall smite him; or his day shall come to die; or he shall descend into battle, and perish.

11 The Lord forbid that I should stretch forth mine hand against the Lord's anointed: but, I pray thee, take thou now the spear that is at his bolster, and the cruse of water, and let us go.

(I Chronicles 16:22 & Psalm 105:15KJV) Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.

(I Corinthians 12:28 KJV) And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

(Ephesians 4:11 KJV) And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

(I Thessalonians 5:12-13 KJV) And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;

(Hebrews 6:10 KJV) For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

7. Fear Cancels Effects of Prayer: Fear of man is not fear of the Lord. (Psalm 111:10 KJV) The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth forever.

(Proverbs 2:1-5 KJV) My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;    2 So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;   3 Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;   4 If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;   5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.

(Proverbs 29:25 KJV) The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe.

(Isiah 51:7-12 KJV) 7 Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings.

8 For the moth shall eat them up like a garment, and the worm shall eat them like wool: but my righteousness shall be for ever, and my salvation from generation to generation.

9 Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the Lord; awake, as in the ancient days, in the generations of old. Art thou not it that hath cut Rahab, and wounded the dragon?

10 Art thou not it which hath dried the sea, the waters of the great deep; that hath made the depths of the sea a way for the ransomed to pass over?

11 Therefore the redeemed of the Lord shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.

12 I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man which shall be made as grass;

8. Demonic fear Enslaves and Torments: (II Timothy 1:7 KJV) For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

(I John 4:8 KJV) He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

8. Robbing God of His Tithes: The Tithe is separate and was instituted by Him.

(Leviticus 27:30-32 KJV) 30 And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord's: it is holy unto the Lord.   31 And if a man will at all redeem ought of his tithes, he shall add thereto the fifth part thereof.
32 And concerning the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, even of whatsoever passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be holy unto the Lord.

9. Tithes Honors the Lord: (Proverbs 3:9-11 KJV) Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:   10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

10. Tithes is not of the law.  It was about 430 years before the law was introduced.

(Genesis 14:17-23 NIV)   17 After Abram returned from defeating Kedorlaomer and the kings allied with him, the king of Sodom came out to meet him in the Valley of Shaveh (that is, the King's Valley).

18 Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. He was priest of God Most High, 19 and he blessed Abram, saying, "Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth.

20 And blessed be God Most High, who delivered your enemies into your hand."

Then Abram gave him a tenth of everything.

21 The king of Sodom said to Abram, "Give me the people and keep the goods for yourself."

22 But Abram said to the king of Sodom, "I have raised my hand to the Lord, God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth, and have taken an oath

23 that I will accept nothing belonging to you, not even a thread or the thong of a sandal, so that you will never be able to say, 'I made Abram rich.'
